    Job description
    The Landscape Design/Build Production Foreman coordinates operations and oversees workers at construction sites. As the point of reference of both workers and managers, a foreman will be a key person for the completion of a project. A foreman will need to have a robust set of leadership skills and the ability to direct the work of others, all while making quick decisions. The foreman must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

    Education requirements
    • A high-school diploma or equivalent is a requirement for the Landscape Design/Build Foremen position.
    • Ohio Certified Nursery Technician or equivalent preferred

    Experience requirements
    • Three or more years’ experience working in landscaping and hardscaping
    • Three or more years managing and overseeing a crew of workers.

    Qualifications
    TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
    • Have a valid Driver’s License with a good record.
    • Advanced knowledge of landscape design/build procedures, equipment, and guidelines. 

    PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Good physical condition and stamina
    • Be able to move one’s whole body to perform climbing, lifting, kneeling, balancing, walking, stooping, and repeatedly bending.
    • Exhibit considerable use of arms, legs to accomplish the physical handling of materials. 
    • Move and handle material generally weighing up to 50 pounds. 
    • Working outside with regular exposure to varying weather conditions ranging from below zero temperatures to 100 plus temperatures. 
     
    Responsibilities
    GENERAL:
    • Report Directly to Operations Manager and Production Manager
    • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
    • Adhere to schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
    • Allocate general and daily responsibilities.
    • Supervise and train workers while supporting and advancing company values and standards.
    • Guarantee all safety precautions, and quality standards comply.
    • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
    • Resolve onsite problems as they arise.
    • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
    • Understanding all facets of the installation process.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
    • Ability to communicate and report effectively using the company means of communication, including Site Audit Pro.
    • Problem-solving skills.
    • Pass monthly, quarterly, and yearly Geenius exams.

    MANAGEMENT:
    • Report on progress to managers using the required time entry software. 
    • Properly clocking in all of the crew and accurately recording hours throughout the day. 
    • Record information using the time entry software throughout the day in real time. 
    • Coding field receipts and paperwork correctly and turning into manager daily. 
    • Responsible for vehicle and equipment. 
    • Reporting any issues to managers, making sure trucks and equipment are parked and put away at the end of the day. 
    • Attend and contribute to assigned weekly company meetings.

    Work hours
    • Available to work 50-55 hours a week, April through October.
    • Available to work 25-45 hours a week, November through March.
    • Available to work during winter months for snow removal.
